Access Statement / Allergies / Cancellation policy

 General Information

At Stonecroft we are committed to ensure an appropriate accommodation service for prospective guests with disabilities. Due to the layout of Stonecroft, we lack facilities for guests with severe mobility limitations but we are trying to make our house as accessible as we can. We welcome any enquiries from guests with disabilities so we can discuss their needs and all reasonable attempts will be made to meet these.

  • Staff trained under Welcome Host and Welcome All Schemes

  • Enquiries and bookings using BT’s Typetalk service are welcomed from the hearing impaired. (E-mail and Fax are also alternatives.)

  • Assistance dogs welcome

  • We have spent two years learning sign language, but please be patient as we may be a little rusty!

  • We have a Fire policy

  • Fire alarm is audible only but very loud.  If you would like us to alert you in the event of a fire, please let us know

  • There are smoke detectors in each bedroom which have both a flashing alert and a very loud audible alarm

  • Emergency information can be communicated verbally on request

  • Copies of all public transport timetables are available

  • The nearest train station is Edale, which is 5 minutes walk from Stonecroft. Guest collection can be arranged

  • The nearest bus service is infrequent. Guest collection can be arranged

  • A list of local taxis is available

  • Assistance with luggage is offered

  • Although you will find televisions in your bedrooms we offer a spacious guest lounge with television for your comfort.  We do not believe in confining guests to their rooms.

  • All rooms have tea making facilities with cordless kettles

  • All rooms have raised wall sockets as well as at skirting level

  • Mobile phone coverage is not reliable in Edale

     

 Access to the House

  • Parking is available, with space for one vehicle per room, immediately in behind the house

  • The ground floor entrance, dining room and guest lounge areas are level throughout apart from two shallow steps up to the front door from the path.

  • Access to the house is level from the car park but there are four steps up from the road.

  • The path from the car park to the front door is through the garden and is narrow but of sound construction

  • Garden is easily accessible

Access to Bedrooms

  • All bedrooms are at first floor level and are accessed by a flight of wide stairs.  There is a half landing and a bend in the stairs two steps from the top.

  • Catering for allergies 

  • We operate a gluten free / wheat free kitchen and gluten free / wheat free menu at Stonecroft.  

  • Our breakfast menu and guest information can be provided in large print and/or described verbally

  • A variety of dietary requirements can be catered for with advance notification

  • A designated guest fridge is available for medications/insulin/special foods etc

  • People with nut allergies should be aware that we do use nuts in the kitchen

  • People allergic to dog fur should be aware that there are family pets on the premises.

    Cancellation policy

    WE REGRET THAT BECAUSE OF THE  NUMBER OF BOOKINGS CANCELLED OR ALTERED AT THE LAST MOMENT IT HAS UNFORTUNATELY BEEN NECESSARY TO OPERATE A CANCELLATION POLICY AND ALTERATIONS OR CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE TO US DIRECTLY BY PHONE,  NOT TO ANY THIRD PARTY AGENT.  IF YOU MADE YOUR BOOKING THROUGH AN ONLINE TRAVEL AGENT, WE WILL THEN DIRECT YOU TO THEM TO CONFIRM THE CANCELLATION.  A BOOKING IS DEEMED LIVE UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED CONFIRMATION FROM US THAT IT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. 

    Bookings cancelled more than 1 week(s) before 22:00 on the day of check in will incur a charge of the first nights stay. Bookings cancelled less than 1 week(s) before 22:00 on the day of check in will incur a charge of 100% of the booking total
